Medical college in Russia is regulated by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Higher Education. In Russia, Medical education is conducted through 10 years full-time Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The process for admission to MBBS is rigorous. The admission process consists of three rounds of medical entrance exams held separately by medical institutes. Students are allowed to choose their medical speciality from the third round of examinations. The medical students do a mandatory year of training in a 3-6 month internship. There is also a one-year fellowship or training program in one of the reputed hospitals or clinics after medical graduation. This means that there is a gap of 4 to 5 years between completing MBBS and starting working.
